This cell line was established by P.A. Campbell and E.P. Canono in 1991. Percoll gradient purified, proteose peptone elicited peritoneal macrophage cells from C57BL/6N mice were fused with drug selected P388D1 mouse macrophage tumor cells. Unlike H36.12j (ATCC CRL-2449), the cells do not produce tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) upon direct beryllium stimulation. |
